Elizabeth Clark was awarded $3.2 million against her Army officer ex-husband and his girlfriend in a revenge-porn lawsuit.
Clark alleged that her ex-husband Adam Clark posted a topless photo of her Facebook and to the Kik dating and hookup app that she had sent them when they were still in a relationship. He also posted unflattering photos of her on Facebook of her in her undergarments that she had made when trying to lose weight.
Clark also said that he stalked her and spread lies about her, including that she had herpes and suffered from an eating disorder.
Clark was married to Adam Clark since April 2010 and had two children together. She claimed that he began an affair with Lt. Col. Kimberly Rae Barrett in 2016 when he briefly worked in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
She said that she will use the money she won to take care of her kids, especially her 5-year-old, who has severe autism. She also hopes to continue her education and help other former spouses who are being bullied by their ex-spouses.
Clark said that she had confidence in her case because she was confident with her legal team.
“I did believe I was going to win because I knew what I was telling was the truth,” she said. “And I know my story, and I knew what I lived through every single day and still to this day, and what I’m going to continue to live through.”
The jury ordered Clark’s girlfriend Barrett to pay Elizabeth Clark $1.2 million. Adam Clark has been ordered to pay his ex-wife $2 million.
Adam Clark currently has misdemeanor charges for stalking and cyberstalking. These are pending against him in Cumberland County District Court in connection with the allegations in the lawsuit.
