Tiger Woods Sued for Restaurant Employee’s DeathThe parents of Nicholas Immesberger, who died in a crash in December, have filed a lawsuit against Tiger Woods, claiming the golfer is responsible for their son’s death.

Immesberger worked as a bartender at Woods’ restaurant, The Woods Jupiter, in Jupiter, Fla. The lawsuit says he finished his shift at 3 p.m. on Dec. 10 and stayed at the restaurant, sitting in the bar area, until he went home.

According to a police report, Immesberger got into a car accident at around 6 p.m. that day. He lost control of his vehicle and veered right across three lanes of the highway and ran into a grass area before going airborne.

The lawsuit states that Woods and his girlfriend, Erica Herman, were drinking with Immesberger at the restaurant just a few nights before the accident. Employees of the restaurant knew that Immesberger had attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and still served him drinks, knowing that he had no other way home other than driving himself.

During a news conference, one of the lawyers who filed the lawsuit said the video footage from the restaurant, which would have shown Immesberger drinking there for three hours, had been destroyed.

“Obviously it shows that somebody knew something had gone wrong and they wanted to get rid of that evidence,” said the lawyer, Spencer Kuvin. “We have evidence to show that the videotape showing Nick at the bar that night drinking for three hours after he got off at 3 p.m., was destroyed shortly after the crash had occurred.”

“We’re all very sad that Nick passed away,” Woods said. “It was a terrible night, a terrible ending, and just — we feel bad for him and his entire family. It’s very sad.”

The lawsuit says that Herman personally knew Immesberger and recruited him to work at The Woods and that she was aware of his alcohol problem. The suit seeks more than $15,000 in damages.
