Maxwell Bernas (Mbernas@CohenandCohen.net) is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School and magna cum laude graduate of The George Washington University.
As an evening student Mr. Bernas worked full-time throughout law school. Prior to joining Cohen and Cohen, P.C. Mr. Bernas was a full-time Litigation Law Clerk at a boutique plaintiffs’ employment law firm and then another personal injury law firm serving the Washington, DC Region. During this time Mr. Bernas supported over ten attorneys in the prosecution of automobile injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, workers’ compensation, premise liability, and employment claims.
Before commencing a legal career dedicated to plaintiffs, Mr. Bernas was a Legislative Assistant for a Member of the United States House of Representatives, Congressman Albio Sires. In this experience Mr. Bernas advised Congressman Sires on banking, housing, and financial services.
Mr. Bernas was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2016 and is a member of the American Association For Justice, Fairfax Bar Association, and Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, Young Trial Lawyers Section.
